The 2014 Thanksgiving snowstorm in Lenox, MA amounted to about a foot of fluffy snow that attached to tree branches and shrubs for a pretty effect. Pretty good timing for the season’s first snowfall because there’s not much traffic in town on Thanksgiving.

Jacob’s Pillow 2015 season preview
The recently released Jacob’s Pillow 2015 season preview includes four dance companies and lists performances in the Doris Duke Theatre and Ted Shawn Theatre at the organizations popular campus in Becket, MA. Full details will be available in December. Jacob’s Pillow Executive and Artistic Director Ella Baff also reported that 2014 was the most successful season on record, with more than 96,000 visitor experiences during the 10 week festival season. 2015 Jacob’s Pillow tickets go on sale to members January 12, 2015 and single tickets go on sale to the public April 1.
New York Theatre Ballet open Jacob’s Pillow 2015 season
New York Theatre Ballet will open the Doris Duke Theatre season June 24-28, 2015 with Donald Mahler’s popular version of the classic story ballet, Cinderella. Cinderella is a treat for all ages, with skilled dancers, beloved Prokofiev music, and imaginative costumes and sets.
Michelle Dorrance, Jessica Lang, Toshi Reagon coming to Jacob’s Pillow in 2015
Following two sold-out engagements in 2013 and 2014, tap star Michelle Dorrance and Dorrance Dance return with The Blues Project, July 1–5. The Blues Project premiered in the Doris Duke Theatre in 2013; for the 2015 season the production will move to the larger Ted Shawn Theatre. The Blues Project cast includes co-choreographers and soloists Derick K. Grant and Dormeshia Sumbry-Edwards, and the production features music composed by renowned singer-songwriter Toshi Reagon, which will be performed live by Reagon and her band BIGLovely.

Jessica Lang, the choreographer and recent Bessie Award winner returns for a two week run of a new evening-length ballet at Jacob’s Pillow, July 29 – August 9, 2015. The Wanderer, created in part during a Creative Development Residency at the Pillow, is set to the Franz Schubert’s song cycle Die schöne Müllerin which will be performed live at the Festival.

Cirque de la Symphonie will perform along with Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops on Aug. 21 to start the final week of the 2015 Tanglewood season. The Cirque de la Symphonie, made up of aerial flyers, acrobats, contortionists, dances, jugglers, balancers, and strongmen, will synchronize the elegant and daring cirque acts of former Olympians and world record-holders with Boston Pops renditions of classical music masterpieces, including Tchaikovsky’s famous waltz from Swan Lake, Saint-Saëns’ Dance Macabre, and a romantic medley called Gershwin in Love.
