Here is the list of acclaimed pianists who will perform this summer at Tanglewood: <strong>Yefim Bronfman, Jean-Yves Thibaudet, Garrick Ohlsson, Emanuel Ax, Leon Fleisher, Leif Ove Andsnes, Peter Serkin, David Fray<\/strong>, and <strong>Stephen Kovacevich<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The centerpiece is the Aug. 14-16 weekend featuring three great Romantic piano concertos: <strong>Rachmaninoff\u2019s<\/strong> <em>Piano Concerto No. 3<\/em> with <strong>Yefim Bronfman<\/strong>; <strong>Liszt\u2019s<\/strong> <em>Piano Concerto No. 2<\/em> with <strong>Jean-Yves Thibaudet<\/strong>; and <strong>Brahms\u2019s<\/strong> <em>Piano Concerto No. 2<\/em> with <strong>Garrick Ohlsson<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>Continuing the lineup of celebrated pianists, Emanuel Ax plays <strong>Beethoven\u2019s<\/strong> <em>Piano Concerto No. 4<\/em> on July 10; <strong>Leon Fleisher<\/strong> plays <strong>Mozart\u2019s<\/strong> <em>Piano Concerto No. 23<\/em> on July 17; <strong>Leif Ove Andsnes<\/strong> plays the <strong>Beethoven<\/strong> <em>Piano Concerto No. 3<\/em> onAugust 2; <strong>Peter Serkin<\/strong> plays <strong>Stravinsky\u2019s<\/strong> <em>Concerto for Piano and Winds<\/em> on August 3; and French pianist <strong>David Fray<\/strong> makes his BSO debut in <strong>Mozart\u2019s<\/strong> <em>Piano Concerto No. 25<\/em> on August 21. European-based American pianist <strong>Stephen Kovacevich<\/strong> returns to Tanglewood for the first time since 1971 for a recital of <strong>Bach, Schumann, and Beethoven<\/strong> on July 2.<\/p>\n<p>Violin soloists who will make guest appearances at Tanglewood this season include <strong>Gil Shaham<\/strong> performing the <strong>Mendelssohn<\/strong> <em>Violin Concerto<\/em> on August 22, <strong>Joshua Bell<\/strong> playing the <strong>Bruch<\/strong> <em>Violin Concerto No. 1<\/em> on July 12, and <strong>Vadim Repin<\/strong> playing the <strong>Beethoven<\/strong> <em>Violin Concerto<\/em> on July 31.<\/p>\n<p>The 2009 Tanglewood season also features several gifted vocalists, ranging from seasoned veterans like bass-baritone <strong>James Morris<\/strong> and tenor <strong>Johan Botha<\/strong> on July 11, to rising stars making their BSO debuts: soprano <strong>Laura Claycomb<\/strong>; tenor <strong>Lawrence Brownlee<\/strong>; baritone <strong>Markus Werba<\/strong>; soprano <strong>Erin Wall<\/strong>; and mezzo-soprano <strong>Kendall Gladen<\/strong>.
