DuBois (1868 \u2013 1963), co-founder of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), will be celebrated through events February 5 and 6, 2011 as the <strong>Du Bois Center<\/strong> holds its fifth anniversary weekend celebration.<\/p>\n<p>February 5 at 3 p.m.: Concert : Trombonist <strong>Craig Harris<\/strong> performs &#8220;Souls Within the Veil&#8221; at Simon\u2019s Rock\u2019s Daniel Arts Center, 84 Alford Road, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.berkshirelinks.com\/great-barrington-mass\/\">Great Barrington, Mass<\/a>. The event will be hosted by Simon\u2019s Rock professor <strong>Wesley Brown<\/strong> with an introduction by playwright <strong>Ed Bullins<\/strong>. Presentation of Du Bois Center Pioneer Awards to philanthropist Rachel Fletcher and maestro Maurice Peress. Reception to follow at the Du Bois Center.<\/p>\n<p>February 6 at 11 a.m.: Film : &#8220;The Road to Freedom: The Vernon Johns Story,&#8221; starring <strong>James Earl Jones<\/strong> and <strong>Nicole Leach<\/strong>, at the Du Bois Center. This special showing hosted by Ms. Leach and co-executive producer <strong>Richard Rubinstein<\/strong>.  $35 admission includes concert and film (Simon\u2019s Rock community free).
