Today&#8217;s event is a recreation of something that the idle rich denizens of the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Gilded_Age\">Gilded Age<\/a> did in display of their mastery of indolence and consumption for consumption&#8217;s sake.
