Sept. 2, 2012"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"page-header\">\n\u00a0 <\/p>\n<h1>Tanglewood schedule Labod Day weekend Aug. 31 &#8211; Sept. 2, 2012<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<p>The BSO has scheduled special programs to end the 75th anniversary season at Tanglewood, beginning with rock group <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Train_(band)\">Train<\/a> performing on Friday, August 31, at 7 p.m. Emerging pop star <strong>Andy Grammer<\/strong> and Nashville-based singer\/songwriter <strong>Mat Kearney<\/strong> will open for Train, which made its Tanglewood debut with a concert on August 8, 2011.<\/p>\n<p>Labor Day weekend at Tanglewood continues with a performance in the Koussevitzky Music Shed on Sept. 1 by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.evanescence.com\/\">Evanescence<\/a>, the band founded in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1995 by singer\/pianist <strong>Amy Lee<\/strong> and guitarist <strong>Ben Moody<\/strong>, with Chevelle playing an opening set.<\/p>\n<h2>Boston Pops Sunday Sept. 2<\/h2>\n<p><figure id=\"attachment_10489\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-10489\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.berkshirelinks.com\/tanglewood-schedule-labod-day-weekend-aug-31-sept-2-2012\/michaelfeinstein\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-10489\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/idealpoetry.com\/rwc\/berkshires-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/MichaelFeinstein-300x252.jpg\" alt=\"Michael Feinstein performs with Boston Pops Labor Day weekend 2012.\" title=\"Michael Feinstein performs with Boston Pops Labor Day weekend 2012.\" width=\"300\" height=\"252\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-10489\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-10489\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Michael Feinstein performs with Boston Pops Labor Day weekend 2012.<\/figcaption><\/figure>For the final event of the BSO&#8217;s 75th season at Tanglewood, which featured the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.berkshirelinks.com\/john-williams-80th-birthday-celebration-at-tanglewood\/\" title=\"John Williams\u2019 80th birthday celebration at Tanglewood\">80th birthday celebration of John Williams<\/a>, the <strong>Boston Pops<\/strong>, with <strong>Thomas Wilkins<\/strong> conducting, will be joined by Tony award winners <strong>Christine Ebersole and Betty Buckley<\/strong>, as well as five-time Grammy nominated entertainer <strong>Michael Feinstein<\/strong> to celebrate the <strong>Great American Songbook<\/strong> with selections by <strong>George and Ira Gershwin, Cole Porter, Harold Arlen, Duke Ellington, Johnny Mercer, Irving Berlin, Richard Rodgers, Lorenz Hart, and Oscar Hammerstein<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0 Tanglewood schedule Labod Day weekend Aug. 31 &#8211;
